MERRY CHRISTMAS, Y’ALL!!
If baking Christmas cookies was a thing back in Jesus’ childhood, I’m pretty sure him and Mary would’ve had just as fun as Bennett and Megan did. Stop and think about it for a minute. At one actual point in history, Jesus was a two year old being silly with his momma just like these two. Ohh, the joy that brings my momma heart.
If I’m being honest, I’ve had hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year. We’re in a transition period between houses right now, so there’s not much room for decorating. Dixon doesn’t really want to watch the same Christmas movies as me. And we didn’t even bother going to Bass Pro this year for the annual Santa picture (we still got a santa pictures, no worries). But tonight at our Christmas Eve candlelight service at church, I finally got to sit and soak and feel the presence of God, and it snapped me right into the mood. I got to be reminded that once, long, long ago, in a land far, far away, a tiny baby was born to save me. To save us all.
I’m a new aunt, and tons pf my friends are pregnant with baby number two, plus I get to shoot of newborn lifestyle sessions. So brand new babies aren’t foreign to me. I even had one in front of my camera this past week. And the whole time my pastor was talking about sweet baby Jesus, with tears filling my eyes, I couldn’t help but relate to Mary a little bit more this year. Even with it being my fourth Christmas as a mother. Maybe it’s because God sure has blessed me a lot this year. Maybe it’s because I feel like I’m following His plan for my life or just trusting Him with everything I’ve got. And even though sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and bustle, I’m so thankful to have been reminded of the true meaning of Christmas tonight.
I hope these sweet pictures of Megan and Bennett bring you some Christmas joy.
Love + Blessings,
